Bela Rak maintains an active guitar career both as a performer and as a certified teacher. After graduating from the Franz Liszt College of Music in Budapest, Hungary with a diploma in Music Education (guitar) and Chamber Music, he was awarded a scholarship to study at University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. There, he earned his Master’s degree (Magister Artium) in performance. He has completed further studies for a PhD at both the University of Music’s Institute for the Research of Folk Music and Ethnomusicology and the University of Vienna’s Institute of European Ethnology. Currently, he is writing his dissertation on the Musical Traditions of Hungarians in the Burgenland region of Austria as well as teaching and performing.
